My Take On Cinnamon Roll Bread!
I have a love affair with bread. Especially cinnamon raisin bread.
I could eat that stuff every day if you let me. But, there's nothing like homemade. Store bought just doesn't compare. And don't get me started on the lovely aroma of baking bread! Oh my goodness! I found a Cinnamon Roll Bread recipe on Facebook and have made some changes to the recipe to suit me! The original recipe is from Recipe Roost, but here's my take on it!
1 cup milk
6 Tablespoons butter (I used Country Crock)
1 package yeast
1/3 c sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
1 t salt
1/2 cup raisins
3 teaspoons cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup sugar
2 T cinnamon
Melt butter with milk over low heat. Heat just till warm and butter is melted. Let set a few minutes until cool enough to sprinkle yeast over top. This should be a little warmer than room temperature. Sprinkle yeast and let set 10 minutes. Then I just combined all ingredients except filling in a large bowl. I used a wooden spoon, nothing fancy. Turn dough out on lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, about 10 minutes or so. Butter or oil another large bowl and place dough in it. Cover with a towel and set in a warm place for about 2 hours to rise. Turn out on lightly floured surface and roll out in a rectangle. Smear with butter. (The more the better) Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar for filling. Roll up into a loaf. Butter a 9x5 loaf pan and place dough in it. Cover and let rise again. I let it set for about an hour or so. Preheat oven to 350 and bake for 40 minutes.
