We Ditched Our Keurig!

I love my coffee. I don't drink an entire pot a day like I used to, but I have to have my coffee every morning.
We had switched to the Keurig a year or so ago because of how much we liked the way the coffee tasted. So, I found a good sale on them and got me one. And then had lots of fun deciding which kind of coffee was my favorite. It turned out to be Green Mountain Dark Magic. I love my coffee dark. My brother picks on me about it. I would buy the big packs about every two weeks. With three people in the house drinking 1-2 cups a day, that started adding up. Last month, I started doing the math and come to find out, I was spending 40$ on coffee a month! A month! I tried the reusable k cups and the outcome was just not as good. And I tried both the reusable ones with the mesh filter and the kind with paper filters. It just wouldn't come out strong enough. Off we went to Walmart. I found a Mr Coffee 12 cup drip coffee maker with a "Strong Brew" button. It is the best investment ever! Guess how much I spend a month now? 14$! I buy the big canisters of Maxwell House Intense Bold for 7$ every two weeks. Don't get me wrong, I still like the Keurig, but I don't think it's cost effective for us. Our Keurig will be saved for when Doodle moves out. She's already claimed it! What have you done to make your budget more cost effective? Let me know in the comments!
