Looking For A New Snack?
Meet MetaBall! Ask anyone who knows me, I am not a health conscious kind of person. I have gotten better since I had kids, but there is still a lot of junk food in my house. I love chocolate. Doughnuts are my friends. I have tried some protein bars that tasted like cardboard. And if you're going to eat healthy, you have to like it, right?
MetaBall is a snack that is made from plant based protein. All of these snacks are free from peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, dairy, egg, soy, fish, shellfish, gluten, casein, sesame and gmo's. They are allergy friendly and are suitable for vegans! You always feel better when you can pronounce the ingredients! These were developed by a mom, Dr. Susan Abramson, when she was confronted with the dilemma of trying to find a snack for her active kids that was nutritious, but low in sugar that tasted good. Plus one of her children had "an off the chart" allergy to tree nuts and peanuts. She developed MetaBall out of necessity!
I received the Apple Pie, Chocolate Cherry, Chocolate Brownie and Mixed Berry flavors. My favorite was, hands down, the Apple Pie. That pack is almost gone. The kids tried them too. I think the only one that wasn't a favorite was the chocolate brownie. It wasn't bad, but the flavor wasn't quite right. I did find that after eating these, I felt fuller and it lasted until my next meal. I didn't want to snack as much. Of course, that was if I could stop popping these in my mouth!
I really liked that they came in these resealable packages so you can just drop one in your purse or backpack and eat them wherever you go! I think these are perfect for my college students. No refrigeration necessary. And you feel good about eating these because it's so healthy. I really enjoyed trying these and will be looking for them in the stores!
