Have You Checked Your Dryer Vent?
This is often an overlooked place that you need to clean!
I know you clean out the filter every time that you put a load in your dryer, but have you checked your vent? 2-3 times a year, you need to pull the vent tube away from the dryer and clean it out because it can collect lint from each load. About once a month, I go outside and clean out the little hood where the vent comes through the wall outside. The heat that comes out of it is a moist heat so lint likes to collect in that too. Also, while you're at it, if you use fabric softener in the wash or the softener sheets in the dryer, you should do this test to make sure it's clean. Run some water over top of it. If the water beads up and doesn't go through, you need to clean it. Wash it with warm soapy water and a brush. Let dry thoroughly before placing back in the dryer. I also have a snake brush that I use to clean the inside of the dryer filter. These are found at Walmart. This will help protect your home from fires and help your dryer clean more efficiently.
